Team Morale & Energy Boost (part II)

Stay in touch…

We all know communication is critical when it comes to successful teamwork. But not everyone communicates in the same way. It can be depleting to try over and over to collaborate with team members without responses or the results you expect. Not only does this slow down achieving team goals, but it causes resentment, detachment and irritation – all which lead to burnout.

As part of my series on boosting team morale and energy, I’m excited to share my second tip:

What’s the best way to stay connected to others on your team?

Team Morale and Energy Boost Tip #2:

Encourage team members to share how they prefer to work and communicate.

It’s pretty easy to find tools online to collect and share data from team members about their preferences – or you can create your own survey/form.

Questions you might include:

  • Do they prefer email, phone or slack?

  • Are they invigorated or overwhelmed by check-in notes?

  • What’s the best way to reach them for an urgent need?

Connecting with your team - and allowing them to communicate with each other - effectively will reduce frustration and wait time; allowing everyone to spend mental energy on innovation and cooperation to meet or surpass goals.

Simple and straightforward, right? Usually, the best solutions are!
