Explore the magic of group coaching
The question:
Why should I consider being part of a cohort instead of doing one on one coaching?
Group coaching incorporates all of the awesomeness of 1:1 coaching and amplifies it.
Let’s dig deeper:
Maybe you’ve had experience with leadership, career or executive coaching in the past, but it’s always been in a one on one setting. So you’re familiar with benefits.
You know that working with someone who is actively listening allows them to articulate back what they’ve heard in order to allow you to hear it yourself, clarify what you’re saying and feel confident in what you communicate. Imagine that a group of people are intently listening and repeating or reflecting back what you’ve shared, each from their own perspective. Your insight is multiplied right off the bat!
A coach differs from a consultant or a mentor in that coaching is done through powerful questions that allow the person being coached to think deeply about what and how they are communicating. Coaching questions also encourage people to let themselves not only think through a situation but also to take the time to recognize how their body is physically and emotionally reacting to what they’re describing or planning. In a group setting you are exposed to questions from many more people, increasing the depth of understanding and expanding the possibilities that are available to you.
Most coaching clients appreciate, if not love, the accountability and cheerleading that come as part of coaching. Humans are social animals and the majority of us thrive when in community with other humans. While we are not dependent on external validation or praise, being connected, sharing ideas with and supporting others boosts our endorphins and helps us to stay motivated. In a group coaching environment, you have an entire cheer squad on the sidelines who are invested in your success and growth. You also have access to multiple accountability partners - to whom you can also provide accountability and habit forming processes. And this community doesn’t go away when the official coaching ends. Group coaching is a fantastic way to expand your network well into the future; nurturing your relationship with your fellow coachees means that you’ll likely connect with their existing networks and amplify your presence and your voice in ways you never imagined.
What does this mean for you?
You don’t have to generate and execute your vision for a future you love by yourself and or even with a single person supporting your journey. Group coaching creates a supportive and dynamic community of like minded people who are eager to see you succeed, passionate about working through roadblocks and sharing their journeys as well.
This is why I created Thrive. Thrive is a group leadership coaching program designed to bring intelligent, ambitious and growth-minded leaders together to empower them to connect with their values in order to create and pursue their vision for a future that is exciting, joyful and completely possible.
The next cohort of Thrive kicks off in July 2024.
